The ACQL is pleased to announce that Marilyn Dumont, poet, writer, and professor at the University of Alberta, will be our anglophone plenary speaker (co-sponsored with ACCUTE) at Congress 2021. 

Of Cree/Métis ancestry, Marilyn Dumont is a poet, writer, and professor in the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta where she teaches with the Faculty of Native Studies and the Department of English and Film Studies. Each of her four collections of poetry–A Really Good Brown Girl (1996); green girl dreams Mountains (2001); that tongued belonging (2007); The Pemmican Eaters (2015)–have won either provincial or national poetry awards. She was awarded the Lifetime Membership from the League of Canadian Poets for her contributions to poetry in Canada (2018), and the Alberta Lieutenant Governor’s Distinguished Artist Award (2019).
