Approaches to Early Career Professionalization: Emerging Scholar Roundtable

How are emerging scholars approaching professionalization in our current era of academic precarity, and systemic inequality? This roundtable invites proposals for short talks (5-10 minutes) from early career academics, including senior graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, sessional instructors, independent researchers, and junior faculty members. Presenters are encouraged to discuss any challenges or strategies pertaining to topics like teaching, writing, translating, publishing, securing funding, navigating the job market, and finding work-life balance.
Individual talks can focus on theoretical or practical elements, and can be delivered in English or French.
Ultimately, this roundtable aims to support and empower early career scholars by creating a space for meaningful dialogue, and by promoting mentorship initiatives.
Propositions for papers (no more than 300 words), accompanied by a short biobibliographical note should be sent by 31 January 2021 to the two organizing members:
